UNIVERSITY COLLEGE DUBLIN
SCHOOL OF CHEMISTRY

UCD is one of Europe's leading research-intensive universities, attracting over 38,000 students from 152 countries. As Ireland's largest university, UCD is also the national leader in winning European Union research funding and is home to the largest School of Chemistry in Ireland. UCD Chemistry is a thriving research school with over 120 researchers, based in newly renovated teaching and research laboratories in Science Centre South of the O'Brien Centre for Science, supported by a suite of Technical Officer-supported research instrumentation. We offer a diverse range of Chemistry degree programmes, including Chemistry with Environmental and Sustainable Chemistry. UCD researchers lead activities in the design and synthesis of advanced battery materials, the development of state-of-the-art operando metrologies, chemo-mechanical microstructure modelling and low-temperature, low-emission recycling of battery materials. In addition to national funded activities, UCD is also involved in European battery projects (e.g. INERRANT) and spin-out company Licovolt Ltd.
