POST DOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE
Design and synthesis of highly conducting Li based compounds via Bond Valence Energy Landscape approach
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position in Materials Science in the Solid State Chemistry/Energy group headed by Jean-Marie Tarascon at Collège de France, Paris. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Solid State Chemistry, Crystallography, Materials Science or a related field as well as relevant experience such as in ionic conductivity, electrochemistry and synthesis, and/or crystallography and scientific programming.
This research project aims to build on the recently developed Bond Valence Sum/Bond Valence Energy Landscape approach to provide guidance for the discovery of new ionic compounds with exacerbated high ionic conductivities. The candidate will then synthetize and thoroughly characterize the selected compounds.
Some research will take place at the CIRIMAT, Toulouse (supervision P. Rozier), and at the Neutron Facility ILL, Grenoble (in collaboration with J. Rodriguez-Carvajal), so that the candidate is expected to be mobile. The position requires a strong research background and hands-on experimental skills. We are seeking a creative, self-motivated individual with excellent written and oral communication skills who can work successfully in an interdisciplinary research environment.
The anticipated start date is October 1, 2015. Initial appointment is a one year term renewable depending upon available funding and satisfactory performance.
Inquiries about the position can be sent to Dr G. Rousse (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Applicants should include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae including a publication list, a short statement of research interests and goals, and name, address and email address of referees familiar with their work.
