Hasselt University seeks a post-doctoral researcher Energy Storage
Imo-imomec is the institute for Materials Research of Hasselt University, located at the university campus in Diepenbeek nearby the German, French and Dutch borders.
The core competence of the institute is situated in the field of new materials systems for microelectronics, bioelectronics and nanotechnology with envisaged applications in the area of health and energy. Recently new activities have started in the field of energy storage, where both fundamental and applied research is carried out.
The fundamental research will be complemented with more applied research activities which will be supported and carried out in collaboration with a strong industrial partnership. In this context a new research group on electrical energy storage will be established.
Research projects will focus on Li-ion battery electrodes, electrode-electrolyte interfaces and SEI formation. Fundamental research will entail state-of-the-art techniques for nanoanalysis including atom probe tomography, photoelectron spectroscopy and in-situ diffraction employing synchrotron radiation. In this context established collaborations to perform advanced electron microscopy are available.
